Students with Disabilities and SLD

The University of Sassari has established a Commission for Students with Disabilities, which supports all initiatives designed to assist individuals throughout their academic journey, from enrollment to graduation. The Commission’s mandate is to foster the welcoming and integration of students with disabilities, promote actions to improve the accessibility of university facilities and living spaces, and conduct dedicated research to identify solutions that enhance the university experience for all students with disabilities.

The Department of Chemical, Physical, Mathematical, and Natural Sciences is consistently committed to supporting students with special needs—specifically those with disabilities and Specific Learning Disorders (SLD)—to ensure their full inclusion in university life. The Department features a dedicated Faculty Liaison for disability and SLD-related matters, assisted by a University-provided tutor. The Delegate is a member of the University Commission and maintains constant communication with student support offices to identify the most appropriate interventions for individual needs.

Within the scope of available financial resources, the Department is committed to strengthening and expanding initiatives for students with disabilities and SLD. This includes promoting teaching methods tailored to special educational needs and implementing faculty training programs focused on didactic support for students with disabilities and SLD.
